The Meaning of Home
Illustrated Storybook
The book showcases my feelings after traveling back home after living in Singapore as a student for 3 years. It was a mesmerizing feeling to realize that my old home stayed the same as the year passed by. I noticed small and big changes with my family members too and poured it all to this artwork.

The book featured in Laskar "Family ties: Faith" exhibition
The book was quite easy to put together as I finally had the brief that allows me to full rely on my emotions and feelings. The experience also helped me to present myself in my work, and learn about translating personal emotions into works that others can understand, or even relate to.
I could feel the full impact of this personal work when my parents came to the exhibition and viewed the physical books themselves. I was very satisfied with this project, and will always have this book in my heart moving forward.
Drafts of the book
The illustration process was quite straightforward because I already know what visuals I want to have in the book. The only exploration I had was during the colouring phase, as I had a hard time understanding how to use the colours purposefully to express emotions. It took long and tiring weeks, but I came to a result that I'm satisfied with. Additionally, I learnt new colouring techniques that best suit my style more!
Shoutout to the printing shop, Print De Creation for helping me during the printing process, and even recommended me suitable paper that can give me the full effect I desire!
