National Gallery Singapore: Reimagining ASEAN Stories to Bridge the Generational Gap
Service Design
This project uses service design methods and creative business approaches to tackle societal challenges within a public institution and national museum. It focuses on improved services to provide a call to action for youths to appreciate ASEAN artistry and history.
My role in the group was the researcher and graphic designer of the project. I helped in organizing the research, developing ideas, and designing assets, such as, mascot character design, graphics for the presentation board and compiling the information into the concept board. Using softwares from Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, and Miro.
Concept Presentation
NGS: reimagined stories is an open call where we invite participants to select a piece from NGS collection and use it as the main inspiration and foundation to create a character. Why do we pick character design? This method, which is inherently a form of storytelling, allows artists to delve deeper into the narrative potential of the artwork.
With character design in mind, we are encouraging participants to reimagine historical artworks through modern lenses and transforming them into unique characters or visual pieces. Since the collaborative and interpretive nature of the project turns static artworks into dynamic source of inspiration, this creates a connection between the past and present art practices.

Illustration Assets I created
It was an honour to work in one team with Alice Amadeus, and Myat Moe Phyu Lwin for this project and I enjoyed every step that we take together. I was also glad to be taught under the guidance of Shin Jung Hoon, Will Kolen, and Chloe for this project.
