Internship with PapyPress
Graphic Design - Client Liaising - Product Mockups - Illustration Work
I was given the opportunity to work as a Graphic Designer for PapyPress from July to October 2024. I had the fortunate experience to help the three sides of the company, from the bespoke wedding invites (PapyPress), children products (PapyKids) to corporate works (PYPR), and liaising directly with their clients.
Throughout my Internship, I had the opportunity to learn how to communicate and liaise with clients directly, design invitations and graphic posters, prepare files for printing, understand the steps of the printing process, and send off the finished projects.
I also had the chance to work with clients such as St. Regis, Clifford Pier, NUS Giving, Conrad, and Capella.

Client Liaising
After a few weeks, the design team trusted me to handle a client's order from liaising to sending off. The client enquired for a fully customized invite, and I was tasked to combine several aspects, ranging from designing a monogram of the couple's names, creating an illustration of the Sydney bridge, and connecting America and Australia for the envelope liner, decorated with orchids flowers accents. It took about two months of back-and-forth with the client, and I successfully finished the project from production through shipping to Australia.

Product Mockups
The design team also trusted me to work on product mockups for the website and social media promotional assets. I have a lot of experience with editing with Photoshop so it was quite easy to do.

Illustration Works
As a passive project to work on, I was tasked to help with creating illustrations for PapyPress's yearly gift for their loyal patrons. In celebration of the new year, the design team planned to create a journal with the story of two cats who fell in love and got married in the span of 12 months! I loved the concept, and happily worked on the illustrations. I'm glad that my illustrative skill can also play a part on the projects that I work with in PapyPress.
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience in working with PapyPress, the colleagues and bosses were really enjoyable to work with. I'm very honoured to have the chance to work with this team. I feel that during this internship, I could touch on different aspects of creative design outcomes that I've not got the chance to go deeper before. The skills I learnt will definitely bring great benefit for my future endeavors!
Shoutout to the team: Ian Koo, Corby Tan, Sophie, Amira, Pearl, Haney, and Yvonne!!
